Jack Butt, Chair: Jack Butt is a senior executive with a successful background in education management, community and business development and international consulting.  He is a professional engineer who has enhanced his education with formal courses in business and organizational development at the graduate level. As a consultant with Educansult a firm of engineers and planners, he developed and designed projects in Nigeria, Kenya, Korea, Pakistan, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates.  Of special note was the development of a community college system for the UAE.

As the Principal and Vice-President of St. Lawrence College Mr. Butt directed college building projects, implemented organizational change, negotiated union contracts and financial management systems. After being diagnosed 6 1/2 years ago with colorectal cancer he retired from full time work and has dedicated his time and energy to volunteerism.  His volunteer work includes Chair, 2nd term Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Public Health Board.  Together with the MOH he champions the advancement of Public Health by advocating the Public Health Agenda to all who will listen.  He is Treasurer of the Canadian Cancer Action Network, a patient voice pan-Canadian group that ensures the patient voice is represented in all cancer strategy discussions, a member of the Screening Action Group, part of the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer which is a federal government project designed to develop a Pan-Canadian cancer control strategy to ensure equality of access and treatment, Chair of Investment Brockville General Hospital, Chair of Golf and Club Captain Brockville Country Club and past Potentate of the Tunis Shriners.
