The Population and Life Course Studies Unit of the Social, Prevention and Health Policy Research Department, monitors population trends in addiction and mental health indicators. This information provides a knowledge base for health and policy professionals and helps ensure that needed programs are put in place in a timely and cost-effective manner. The two major monitoring projects are the biennial Ontario Student Drug Use Survey (OSDUS), the longest on-going school survey in Canada, and the CAMH Monitor, an annual telephone survey of Ontario adults.

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) is an organization dedicated to preventing deaths and injuries resulting from impaired driving.  Their site contains information on their programs, lists of various supports for those who have been victims of impaired drivers, copies of their publication and information on how you can help prevent drunk driving.

Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) - www.mto.gov.on.ca
The MTO has an informative website with an excellent section on drinking and driving.  Just click on the heading impaired driving once you have entered the website.  This section addresses the legal consequences of drinking and driving in Ontario.  It also gives information on treatment programs for alcoholism, as well as programs and campaigns geared towards the reduction and prevention of drinking and driving.

Ontario Community Council on Impaired Driving - OCCID - www.occid.org
OCCID is an organization that works with various community groups and coalitions to help prevent drinking and driving in Ontario.  Their website contains statistics and information on legislation related to alcohol and impaired driving.  It also has information on upcoming OCCID events and basic information on drinking and driving and how you can help to prevent it.

Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving - OSAID - www.osaid.org.
OSAID is a youth-driven organization that is dedicated to preventing drinking and driving through practical and positive peer education.  Their website contains program information, links related to alcohol and impaired driving, and lists their upcoming events.
