Children's Mental Health
Back to Growing Up Healthy

A child’s mental health is dependent on many things. Pre and post natal care received by the mother, the support that both parents receive through the child’s life, and access to quality childcare services all play a part in a child’s mental health. The Canadian Mental Health Association has more information.

Children need access to Mental Health Services, just as adults do. Finding out about these services, and advocating with the government for more services isn’t always easy. Children’s Mental Health Ontario has taken on this role.

In Leeds and Grenville, Child and Youth Wellness for Leeds and Grenville provides services to children.  In Lanark County, contact Open Doors for Lanark Children and Youth.
