The
Ministry of Transportation (MTO) maintains
a database on every reportable motor
vehicle collision (including farm tractors
and snowmobiles) that occurs in Ontario.
The database records information on
components of each collision (e.g., road
conditions, location, vehicles involved,
injuries, substance use during operation
of a vehicle etc., vehicle speed, vehicle
condition etc., use of safety equipment).
The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District
Health Unit receives the MTO data from the
Eastern Ontario Health Information
Partnership (HIP).
