The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark
District Health Unit receives the data for their
residents from the Public Health Branch of the
Ministry of Health, through its Health Planning
System (HELPS) initiative.
Data Limitations
- The census misses some members of the
population. The 1991 undercount was estimated
at 3.6% in Ontario. The population including
the undercount has been adopted by the Ontario
Ministry of Finance in the development of
their population forecasts.
- The forecasts for small municipal
areas should be interpreted cautiously. Past
boundary changes have made it difficult to
estimate base populations which ultimately
affect their projections.
