Programs and Services
Each year oral screening is provided to all school entrants.,
(both Junior and Senior Kindergarten) attending elementary school
within Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Counties. Oral screening is
provided for students from grades 1 to 8 depending on the school.
Request for having children screened at their elementary school can
be accommodated by phoning the Dental section of the Health Unit
at 1-800-660-5853. In addition oral screenings are provided at
Health Unit offices. Call and schedule an appointment.
Administration of the Children in Need of Treatment Program (CINOT)
If oral screening indicates a potentially serious oral health problem
the parent or guardian will be contacted by the Health Unit.
The CINOT program
may be able to assist with cost of obtaining dental
treatment for families who are in financial need and do not have
dental insurance.

Preventive clinics are provided for CINOT eligible clients.
Registered Dental Hygienists and Certified Dental Assistants can
provide the following preventive services:
- Oral Hygiene Instruction
- Scaling and Polish
- Topical Fluoride Applications
- Fluoride Varnish Program
- Pit & Fissure Sealant Application
- Custom Mouthguard Fabrication
Other services offered:
- Oral Health Education Presentations
- Attendance at Kindergarten Registrations
- Annual Oral Health Month Campaigns in April
