Project Objectives

  • To recruit members and establish terms for conducting our business
  • To conduct an assessment of knowledge and skills needed by residents to be informed of alcohol and other drug related risks and related injuries and to be effective in preventing harm to themselves and their families
  • To increase awareness of such issues, knowledge that promotes understanding them, or acquisition of skills that facilitate managing them without harm
  • To enhance existing activities that contribute to achieving the mission
  • To develop and implement comprehensive programming needed to augment existing activities and polices to secure them
  • To reduce the proportion of youth (12 to 18 year olds) who consume alcohol or other drugs and the proportion of adults who consume alcohol at levels risking related injuries and their health
  • To reduce the rate of death related to alcohol or other drug misuse
  • To reduce illicit drug use
  • To reduce the rate of medication misuse among the older adult population
