Alert Level Definition  
Level One
Heat Alert (yellow)
A forecast high temperature of 36°C or 36 degrees on the Humidex scale, for at least two consecutive days with no SMOG alert  Local weather

Level Two Extreme Heat Alert (orange) A forecast high temperature of 36°C or 36 degrees on the Humidex scale, for at least two consecutive days with SMOG alert OR a forecast high temperature of 40°C or 40 degrees on the Humidex scale, for at least two consecutive days with no SMOG alert
Level Three Extreme Heat Emergency (red) A temperature 36°C or 36 degrees on the Humidex scale and above with other contributing factors (eg. power outage)
