• Health Canada - Find out the amount of physical activity you require for health benefits

• YMCA - This site lists locations and services offered through the YMCA

• Active Healthy Kids - For tips and ideas on how to get your family active

• Play Sport - For games and activities that encourage fun, free play while helping kids develop the skills required to participate in all kinds of sports

• Games Kids Play - This site contains descriptions of multitude of games children love to play

• High Five - Contains information for parents on choosing quality recreation and sport programs.

• Horse back riding - A great activity for both children and adults. For more information on this topic please check out the Ontario Equestrian Federation website

• Heart and Stroke - Information on prevention of heart disease and stroke through physical activity

• Mississippi Field Naturalists - Has a number of trails in the Mississippi Valley area.  On this site they give a brief description of the trail and directions on how to get them.

• Rideau Trails Association - for more detailed trail maps, information on walks or to become a member please visit the website.

• Ministry of Health Promotion -The New Ministry of Health Promotion has recognized the importance of having trails available in the community; to have access to places for people to be more active, more often.
