Back to Health before Pregnancy

A pregnancy test should be done if you are experiencing the early signs of pregnancy such as breast fullness, missed period(s), morning sickness, and fatigue. There are three different kinds of pregnancy tests

  • the home pregnancy test;
  • the in-office or lab urine test, and
  • the blood test.

You may choose not to rely solely on a home pregnancy test alone. You may choose to have a blood test administered by your family practitioner to confirm the results.

A medical examination should be done in conjunction with the above test(s). The practitioner would be able to feel, by the 6th week, the enlarging or softening of the uterus and a change in the texture of the cervix
