Clean Works Needle Exchange Program
The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care outlines requirements for programs delivered at each Health Unit. The goal for the Sexual Health, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Blood-Borne Infections programs is to prevent or reduce sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne infections. A requirement is that the Health Unit provides harm reduction programs, including the provision of sterile needles and syringes and other harm reduction strategies in response to community need. The Clean Works Needle Exchange Program is a service that meets these requirements.
