Registered Dietitians at the Health Unit are resources for the public, health professionals and community partners.
The Health Unit Registered Dietitians can:
Work with organizations to develop healthy eating guidelines
Develop nutrition education resources on various topics
Provide in-service education for healthcare professionals and community partners on current nutrition issues
Work with schools, workplaces, and community organizations
Link residents and health care providers to community resources
The Registered Dietitians at the Health Unit do not provide individual ongoing nutrition counseling. If your clients require individual counseling, a referral can be made to consult with a Registered Dietitian at a local hospital, community health centre, family health team, or in private practice.
If the public has general healthy eating questions, they can call EatRight Ontario’s toll free line at 1-877-510-5102 and speak with a registered dietitian. Or they can visit EatRight - Ontario for useful nutrition tips, tools and resources on healthy eating.
