Registered Dietitians at the Health Unit are resources for the public, health professionals and community partners.

The Health Unit Registered Dietitians can:

  • Work with organizations to develop healthy eating guidelines
  • Develop nutrition education resources on various topics
  • Provide in-service education for healthcare professionals and community partners on current nutrition issues
  • Work with schools, workplaces, and community organizations
  • Link residents and health care providers to community resources

The Registered Dietitians at the Health Unit do not provide individual ongoing nutrition counseling. If your clients require individual counseling, a referral can be made to consult with a Registered Dietitian at a local hospital, community health centre, family health team, or in private practice.

If the public has general healthy eating questions, they can call Eat Right Ontario’s toll free line at 1-877-510-5102 and speak with a registered dietitian. Or they can visit www.ontario.ca/EatRight for useful nutrition tips, tools and resources to help people eat right and be healthy.
