Helping Our Children’s Speech Development

The Language Express Preschool Speech and Language has its Central Office in the Smiths Falls Health Unit Office. Families of children birth to age 5 can call the Express Line (613-283-2742/888-503-8885) to get information about their child’s speech or language development or to make a referral. All identification, assessment and treatment services are offered through one of our 6 partner agencies: Brockville General Hospital, Carleton Place District & Memorial Hospital, Perth/Smiths Falls District Hospital, Early Language Development Services, Lanark Community Programs, and the Health Unit. Children 2 and under are seen by Infant Development Workers in conjunction with Speech-Language Pathologists. Services may be provided in a clinic, child care facility or at home. Services range from individual treatment with a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist, to small group, parent and/or caregiver training, to home programs and consultations.

Services may be provided in a clinic, child care facility or at home.
