Health Inspectors Help
Residents After Flooding in Delta
Back
to 2005 Annual Report
Submitted by Joan Mays,
CPHI(C), BASc
Supervisor of Health Protection Department
Seasonal melting combined with heavy rains last spring led to the worst
flooding in Delta in 50 years.
Health inspectors quickly responded to this urgent situation by
distributing water test bottles door-to-door, along with information on
dealing with flooded wells and septic systems.
The
Health Unit has prepared a pamphlet called “Keeping Your Well Water Safe
to Drink”, which was distributed at the Delta Maple Syrup Festival.
Copies are available through the Health Unit.
