One Person, One Seatbelt Legislation Passes
The Board of Health applauds new legislation that requires every vehicle to have as many seatbelts as passengers. This closes the loophole in previous legislation that allowed more passengers than seatbelts in vehicles. Seatbelts were not worn in about one third of motor vehicle fatalities. Every one percent increase in seatbelt usage saves five lives.
