Monthly Board Report - January 2001
“Walking Clinic”

The first Leeds, Grenville and Lanark “ walking clinic” was piloted in Almonte on October 10. The purpose of this clinic was to motivate participants in using the six week “Walk This Way” program. The educational clinic covered the following topics: getting started, the physical and mental health benefits of physical activity, tips on proper footwear and dealing with foot problems, stretching and safety, identifying personal goals, osteoporosis, heart disease and nutrition.
This clinic was a partnership between the public health nurse and occupational therapist/podiatrist Nancy J. McFayden.
