Ontario has now passed legislation making it illegal to smoke in any vehicle while children under 16 are present. The legislation passed Royal Ascent June 18th 2008.

Smoke-Free Ontario Act
Smoke Free Ontario ActAs of May 31st of this year all enclosed public places and workplaces will be made to be smoke-free under provincial legislation. The Smoke-Free Ontario Act will protect all workers and the public for exposure to second-hand smoke. To find out more you can visit the Ministry of Health Promotion website.

The purpose of The Smoke-Free Long-Term Care Homes Project is to help LTC Homes in the transition to a new and safer healthcare environment. The project aims to help build capacity within the LTC Home sector in order to sustain smoke-free environments.
