Ontario has now passed legislation making it illegal to smoke in any
vehicle while children under 16 are present.

According to Ipsos Reid survey ) conducted in March and November
2006, with a sample of more
than 1800 and a margin of error of 2.9%, 19 times out of 20, many of
those in multi-unit dwellings
are affected by drifting smoke.

Smoke-Free Ontario Act
As of May 31st of this year
all enclosed public places and workplaces will be made to be smoke-free
under provincial legislation. The Smoke-Free Ontario Act will protect
all workers and the public for exposure to second-hand smoke. To find out

Safer environment for Long Term
Care Facilities
The purpose of The Smoke-Free Long-Term Care Homes Project is to help LTC Homes in the
transition to a new and safer healthcare environment. The project aims to help build
capacity within the LTC Home sector in order to sustain smoke-free environments.
