Summer Health and Safety Program
|
The Health Unit is pleased to offer our interactive Summer Health and Safety Program once again. The program has been well received in the past and has been adapted to include new games, activities and content.
This program educates children and parents about the ways to minimize the risk of injury and promote healthy living. It is intended for children ages 3-12 years and may be delivered at schools, daycares, day camps, community festivals and fairs.
Age appropriate activities (i.e. puppet show, trivia roulette wheel activity, relay race, obstacle course) are used to capture the children’s attention and deliver health promotion messages on these topics:
- Water/Sun safety
- Fire and burn prevention
- Bike and pedestrian safety
- Poison/Choking prevention
- Home safety
- Physical activity
- Healthy eating
Following the presentation, a take-home package is provided for each child including resources for parents and fun activities for children.
If you are interested in the program, please contact our Summer Health and Safety Squad at summerbookings@healthunit.org or call 613-345-5685 ext. 3049.
